Since 2003, Christian R. Mahoney has excelled as the managing director at Canamtex Property Management & Development, a real estate-based firm in Houston, Texas, and the co-owner of 10 companies under its umbrella. In conjunction with these responsibilities, he maintained his affiliation with Exxon Mobil Corporation—where he worked for 37 years running everything from fuels and retail distribution to global trading. At Exxon, he served as a planning manager and a supply chain project executive from 1985 to 2005; a global industrial and wholesale fuels operations manager from 2006 to 2009; a retail distribution manager from 2009 to 2012; a lubricant sales manager from 2013 to 2015; a president of the ExxonMobil Lubricants Trading Company from 2015 to 2017; the North America lubricants director from 2016 to 2019; and the Southeast Asia Pacific lubricants director from 2018 to 2021. In addition, Mr. Mahoney has previously been active as the project executive of a branded associate business and an industrial and wholesale general manager at Imperial Oil.
Mr. Mahoney became familiar with real estate and started Canamtex with his wife while working at ExxonMobil. Among his current projects is the largest rental property, with 36 units, on the Outer Banks. Outside of his primary roles, Mr. Mahoney has also lent his time and energy as a volunteer, certified mentor, vice president of outreach, and chairman at SCORE Houston, which provides business management consultancy as part of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) Association. Looking toward the future, he hopes to see SCORE Houston double in size to serve more individuals with entrepreneurial aspirations. As a real estate developer and property management business, he wants Canamtex to grow fivefold in the next five years.
Mr. Mahoney prepared for his professional journey by attaining a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Calgary, and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Toronto. His wife, Beverly, is a designer and decorator. His son, Mitchell, is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Rice University while his daughter, Rachel, and son-in-law, Jeffrey, are attorneys in New York. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with family, spending time with his dog, coaching youth sports, working on his property, and riding his motorcycle.
